How does an umbrella company work?
We sign a contract with your Client or Recruitment Agency, and you have a separate Employment Contract with UOU. This effectively makes you our employee.
UOU then takes care of invoicing the agency and end clients on behalf of it's employees, calculating Tax and National Insurance deductions and finally, paying the net pay directly into your nominated bank account.
By joining UOU, you will benefit from all of the advantages of being a contractor without all of the hassle, administration, responsibilities and risk of running your own business. You will not need to set up your own limited company, open company bank accounts, apply for VAT, consult with an accountant or register for self assessment with HMRC.
In particular, as a UOU employee you will have no risk whatsoever with regard to IR35 or Managed Service Company legislation.
